Sustainable business with the WIN-Charta

The WIN-Charta is a management system for sustainable business practices in small and medium-sized enterprises. WIN stands for Wirtschaftsinitiative Nachhaltigkeit, or Business Initiative for Sustainability. It is part of the sustainability strategy of the state of Baden-Württemberg. The initiative was launched in 2010, before Baden-Württemberg had a Green-led state government under Winfried Kretschmann. Its aim is to bring together and benefit from the experience and knowledge of companies in the region already operating sustainably. By signing the WIN-Charta, companies across the state aim to further improve sustainability. The signatories thereby underline their economic, environmental and social responsibility. As a guideline, the WIN-Charta has developed twelve guiding principles. They provide a framework and define the goals that companies wish to achieve or have already achieved. Signatories are expected to prepare a report every year, incorporating their successes and setting new goals and standards. This allows companies to monitor themselves and adapt their actions.

Sustainable business practices are already a top priority for many companies, but not yet for all. To serve as a role model for other companies and our customers, and to lead by example, we decided to sign the WIN-Charta. In doing so, we support Baden-Württemberg's sustainability strategy and work to reduce energy and resource consumption in the state. Implementing the WIN-Charta principles is part of our everyday business, whether through climate protection, which is very close to our hearts, or care for our employees. We constantly strive to develop further and to keep redefining and achieving our standards and goals.
