Water softening system trial
Languages: English, German, French, Spanish
We at Merus are so confident in the performance of our Merus Rings that we offer a free, no-obligation trial of our “alternative water softening/descaling system”.
You can find out how the trial works here under Contact.
You will receive your Merus Ring a few days after contacting us. We will help you with installation. Once installed, the ring starts working immediately, and the four-week trial of your new water softening system can begin. The judge is not a representative of an online portal, an “impartial institute” or Stiftung Warentest, but you alone. At home, with your own water and in your own surroundings, you can form a completely independent view of the Merus “descaling system”. Compare how your hard water becomes soft water. This also works at high levels of hardness. You alone decide whether you are satisfied with the result or whether a “conventional” descaling system makes more sense for you. Not satisfied? Simply send the device back, and that is all. No costs, no hassle.
What is the catch?
When we present this offer directly to interested customers, face to face, we can see many of them start to wonder. Their question is: “What is the catch?”
There is no catch!
That is one reason why we have now been operating successfully in the market for 25 years. Quite surprising for a product like the Merus Ring, isn't it? Another reason is that the vast majority of our customers are reliable people. Our invoices get paid or our Merus Rings are returned. Being able to rely on this makes such a generous trial financially viable for us.
We have specific pages explaining what you can expect from a Merus Ring in different situations. There we also examine, for example, whether you should soften your drinking water, or present a sample calculation of the cost of water softening for a family of four in Munich.
A further word about the environment
Anyone who uses chemical water softeners knowingly accepts that the salt pollutes the wastewater. There was a European Union legislative initiative to ban water softening systems for private households altogether. The reason was the burden water softeners place on public wastewater treatment plants, both through the salt used for regeneration and the increased water consumption during flushing. However, this law was never implemented, presumably because other interests prevailed. Merus Rings have the advantage of working without a power supply, salt or regeneration. Our process is therefore particularly gentle on the environment and makes good sense.
Testing procedures for descaling systems
The DVGW is the umbrella association for Germany's gas and water sector. It also establishes rules relating to water. Its W-512 code includes guidelines for water softening systems, including a testing procedure that describes how the results of water treatment methods can be made comparable. Products such as the Merus Ring are not covered by this code at all. The tests always assess chemical changes in the water, meaning a change in water hardness. The Merus Ring cannot produce such a change. We change the physical behavior of dissolved and soluble substances, no more and no less. Removing something from the water with a ring around the pipe would be magic. For this reason, the Merus Ring does not carry a DVGW seal of approval. However, the result in your household can be as good as, or better than, with other water treatment methods. It is therefore a genuine alternative, usually at a lower price.
